Vote Now to help us secure funding for Sedbergh’s Young at Heart Project

As part of the TL Dallas Charitable Trust initiative to raise £100,000 for selected charities by 2019, one of our benefiting charities is Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre in Bradford. The centre offers many different clubs and support to people of all ages throughout the local community. One of the ways TL Dallas is helping is by calling for the support of the local community to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2017.

This funding is specifically for the Young at Heart project run by Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre. This is a happy, social group taking place every week for local people and beyond. If the bid is successful Aviva funding will pay for the group to run right through 2018 (Jan 2018 to Dec 2018), to help make positive changes to the lives of those who are isolated and lonely.

The Young at Heart project is relying on votes to increase their chances of winning funding of up to £25,000 which they hope will help local people take control of and improve their well-being; get out into the community and live life by mixing with other people.

The need for regular, social participation for older and lonely people has never been more apparent and with 463 one-pensioner households in the area the project will encourage interaction with the help of our partners and associates such as Age UK Bradford, Accent Housing, Anchor Housing, Creative Support and through our current clients with older family members.

The Young at Heart group not only impacts on the people attending but on their families and the community as a whole.

TL Dallas Team Challenge

A team of 10 volunteers from TL Dallas recently took on a Team Challenge to paint the gym at the Sedbergh Club. It was a fairly large space but they completed it and made did a great job.
